Worship vs. Mission.
Worship is when we give our deepest affections and highest praise to something. In my case, God. True worship of God is when we love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. It’s putting God first in your life, not last.
As a Christian, Mission is defined as allowing Jesus to use us to be fishers of men. This means we willingly use our new life in Him to benefit and share with others. It’s telling others the new and improved life we are living since knowing Jesus.
As we grow as Christians, we tend to gather to worship and scatter to mission. It’s important to have a close church family; people you can count on, even learn from. And there’s nothing like worshiping our one True God in unison with your brothers and sisters in Christ. And as it says in Mark, Chapter 16:15 - “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” We are to reach the lost and tell the good news that Jesus died for everyone of us.
I will never forget the first mission trip I took to Peru. What a moving spiritual blessed moment in time.
But, we don’t have to travel across the country to tell people about Jesus. We can do this in our neighborhood, grocery store, wherever we find ourselves in the presence of someone who’s lost.
I will forever be grateful for both worship and the mission God gave me to share with others.
