Worn out.
In 2018, I went a whole year without buying any clothing of any kind. I didn’t miss the shopping, and never needed any clothing that I didn’t already have. It goes to show you I already had enough clothes in my closet to wear. I admit, in my 20’s and 30’s, I kept buying clothes, even though I already had enough.
Clothes do wear out, but rarely do we keep them that long. We give the used clothing away (which is a good thing), and buy more new things we think we need.
Did you know that this earth is wearing out as we speak? We’re not taking care of what we have. Our natural resources are dwindling, and what we do have, we’re polluting and replacing God’s green earth with cement and other man-made structures.
It says in Isaiah that one day the heavens will vanish like smoke, and the earth will wear out like a garment. All mankind will die like flies.
But, there is good news in all this, and that’s, our salvation will last forever.
Don’t put your trust and money in the things of this world, as one day it will all be but a vapor of smoke.
Trust God, who makes old things new.
Isaiah 51:6 - “Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever,
my righteousness will never fail.”
