Overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:20 - “On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.

Have you ever been so devastated or hurt by someone that you want to hurt them back; get even? You want them to feel the same pain that you experienced, so in your mind, you’re thinking what you can do to get them back.

As Christians, we know that this is not our job. This is all God. If we try to do God’s work, we will fail. Leave the vengeance to God, my friend.

In most cases, when someone intentionally hurts you, they will forget about it, or think that they’ve done their part and it’s over, forgotten. When you’re sitting around, mourning, steaming, thinking of ways to get them back, they’ve already moved on.

This is where people let circumstances dictate their lives. You ask them how they feel, and they’ll say, “under the circumstances, I feel terrible.” As a Christian, my response should be, “we’re not under the circumstances, we’re over the circumstances.” We shouldn’t be basing our moods on our circumstances. This is what satan wants. He wants us to brood over it, and be so consumed that we think of nothing else but the problem.

Let’s let God take control; He’ll fight the battle, and the best thing is, He’ll win!

Leave the wrath to God. Overcome evil with good, by moving on, forgiving the other person, praying for them. It’s then that they’ll see what a true Christian’s character looks like.
