Resilience is a matter of God-sufficiency.

Resilience is defined as, “the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.”

You can go through seasons where everything seems to be difficult; everything you touch, crumbles.

You have two choices when this happens. You can either lie down and take it, or you can fight back. How you fight back is the difference.

A lot of people rely on their own self-sufficiency to get through problems. They see a problem and instead of praying about it and giving it to God, they wallow in self-pity, stress out and are crippled with depression.

How about instead of relying on yourself to resolve the problem, you rely on God to fight your battle.

Some wonder why they keep having problem after problem and nothing ever seems to go their way.

Who are you relying on today? Did you wake up with God on your mind, or thinking about your problems?

Did you ask God for help today?

You don’t receive, because you don’t ask. Sounds simple, but it’s a statement from God.

Be God-sufficient today. He’s all you need to be resilient!

James 4:2-3 - “You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

Satan's tool is not an active sinner, but an inactive saint.

Satan has a lot of tools he uses to entice, deviate or persuade us into doing things against God.

He’s on the lookout, not for the guy who is deep in sin, but the guy who claims to be a Christian, but neglects becoming a part of the Christian life.

You see, the devil already is in the mind of the thief, the murderer, the liar. He doesn’t have to work too hard to lure these people. But, satan’s favorite prey is the person who is good and moral, attends church on Sunday morning, but otherwise does their own thing during the week. The people who don’t have time to serve God, or people.

The devil seeps into their lives, tells them that it’s ok to skip church. He’ll convince them that they don’t make enough money to tithe.

Be very careful friends. The deception trickles in. It will knock you off your feet.

Don’t be a victim of satan’s snares.

Be a victor of the King of Kings. Fight satan with Christian active duty.

Ephesians 4:27 - “and do not give the devil a foothold.”

Don't be afraid to let go.

The world will pressure you into thinking you’re weak and can’t handle life’s pressures. People will tell you to risk everything, including your family to succumb to the world’s values.

I used to be scared of losing control, admitting defeat.

But, I’ve found that when I’m at my lowest, at my weakest, this is when God steps in and takes the reigns. In our weakness, He comes through. At our lowest, His light shines brighter in our life.

Don’t think that God’s power and blessings are only for a select few. You matter to God. He can use you, right where you are. God’s waiting on you to say, “I can’t do this on my own, and I need you God.”

What’s the worst that could happen if you give the problem to God and say, “help me.”

What if you surrendered your problems to God today and things started turning around for you?

Let go of the past hurts. Quit hanging onto the unforgiveness.

God’s promises to deliver you from the evil one.

Let go of the reigns and let God drive today.

History

I read this quote, “most people get to watch history; very few get to make it.”

My husband is a huge history buff. From World War II to Civil War, he can tell you anything you want to know about it. We laugh because I never have been interested in history, and feel like God brought him into my life to educate me. Lol.

People are making history every day, breaking records and causing others to take notice of their accomplishments.

How about you? Have you ever wanted to be a history maker? You can be, you know.

You can be a part of God’s great commission. He’s asking each of us to go throughout the world and tell others about Jesus.

God’s not looking for someone who’s got it all together. He’s not really looking for ability, but availability.

Join me in being a world changer. My heart and God’s plan for me is in the mission field.

I’m looking forward to making history.

Will we be watching you make history some day?

Life - unfolding with a purpose.

God’s purpose for each of us is revealed in quiet and amazing revelations.

I’ve heard some people say that they don’t deserve to be blessed. None of us deserve the next breath, yet God sent His Son, in our place. Instead of us being condemned in sin forever, Jesus died in our place.

The good news to all of this is that each one of us are born into this world with a purpose. Most will tell you, “I don’t know what my purpose here is.” I didn’t either, for a very long time in my life.

Ask God. He has a plan for each one of us. Whether you believe it or not, God also has created you for a purpose.

When I finally started seeking God, trusting Him each and every day, the plan and purpose for my life started unfolding.

This doesn’t mean that I know what’s going to happen today, tomorrow, or even next year. It means that I woke up this morning, knowing that God’s plan for my life is unfolding. Whether I struggle, or whether I have an amazing day, God’s got this.

Quit focusing on the trials or uncomfortable circumstances, but look for God in everything. God’s plans are always for our good.

Be open to be guided by God today.

Living life in positive expectation.

Our world news is full of gloom and doom these days. From the political realm to the wars looming in the distance, life can be depressing.

But, as a Christian, there is always encouragement in living life. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

To live in positive expectation only comes in knowing God. Our continuing close relationship with God gives us hope for tomorrow, even with the devastating news abroad. We can expect great things in our future, even in our present and troubling circumstances.

God knew us before we were born. He knew the things that we would be going through today. But, He gives us a wonderful hope. If we truly believe and trust Him, He will give us the desires of our heart. Try this, it works.

Expect great things from God and believe that what He says He will do, will come to fruition.

He knows our heart. Don’t hold anything back.

Trust Him with your life today and have a positive expectation for tomorrow and beyond.

Busy (Being under Satan's yolk).

Be sure you recognize the evil one. Satan prowls around like a lion, waiting to attack in any way he can.

You can ask anyone these days and they’ll tell you, they’re so busy and their schedule is so full, that it’s hard to get everything done.

But, what is everyone so busy with? Are you busy serving people? Are you involved in bible studies throughout the week? Those are all good things.

It’s when we get busy with trivial things, like cleaning instead of reading the bible; shopping instead of joining that bible study; watching tv, instead of praying; that’s when we need to make some changes.

The devil loves to keep us busy, doing mindless, stupid stuff. He’d love for you to waste your evening watching old re-runs from your favorite sitcom.

To circumvent this busy life Satan wants you to uphold, start filling your free time with things like, volunteering at a nursing home; reading to the kids in the after-school program; joining a bible study and learning more about God.

Get busy with God.

1 Peter 5:8 - “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

Growing in the spirit.

I read this from a pastor’s sermon, “spiritual fruit doesn’t grow on mountaintops; it grows in valleys.”

The above statement is saying that when you’re going through life and everything is going well, and you have very few problems, don’t expect to see a huge growth in your spiritual life.

If you’ve been a Christian for very long, you know that when you’re going through a struggle, your first instinct is to cry out to God for help. You pray more, you read the Bible more, trying to see some insight to the resolution to this problem.

God loves seeing this. He sees your motives and it’s then, that He determines whether you’re trusting Him in the valley, or whether you’re trying to do it on your own.

Don’t panic in the valley. Know and believe that it won’t last long. But, most of all, know that you are growing closer to God. This too shall pass. God is there to comfort and guide you through this season. The valley may be long and laborious, but with faith, the mountaintop is just beyond the horizon.

Seek the mountaintop, persevere through the valleys, and trust God through it all.
