Violated.

In the Bible, all violence is considered an offence against God and against humanity. Wickedness is running rampant in this world and there seems to be no end in sight. Being violated in any form is such a painful unnecessary event that it leaves us in a state of shock.

My husband and I recently experienced being victims of a pickpocket incident in a foreign country. It wasn’t that we were not careful, we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You could look at this scenario several different ways. It could have been a lot worse. At least we weren’t physically harmed. And it was a hassle replacing our stolen items. But, the one thing we cannot let ourselves do is to dwell on it.

The devil would like nothing more than for us to sit and ruminate over this for days, weeks, even months.

It’s a choice I’ve made to put this behind me and look at the good things in my life. I have my family, my health, my friends and my church family. God is good and lesson learned.

If anything this incident has made me look forward to Heaven all the more, where there will be no more sorrow, no more thieves, murderers, rapists, etc.

Keep your thoughts on God!

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men  nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
