Authenticity

Authenticity is defined as “you're true to your own personality, values, and spirit, regardless of the pressure that you're under to act otherwise. You're honest with yourself and with others, and you take responsibility for your mistakes.”

Life is hard and some people go out of their way to be something they’re not. It’s okay to have a goal, a dream that pushes us to be a better version of ourself. It’s when our character doesn’t match up to our true self that starts to alter our ego and personality.

God made each of us in a unique fashion. Not one person on earth is exactly like you. Even identical twins have some distinctive difference that sets them apart.

Are you trying to change your life to suit someone else? Are you under pressure to risk your future in order to climb to the top?

From the Bible’s perspective, authenticity is the process of being truly godlike while being fully human. This requires courage, but not recklessness.

Be authentic in your walk with God. Love from the center of who you are, don’t fake it. Be a good friend that loves deeply. Be the person God created you to be.

1 Samuel 16:7 - “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”"
