Charging station.

Almost everyone has a cell phone and unlike our old land lines, they have to be charged daily. If left uncharged, they will run out of power and be useless.

When I think of my life as a Christian, I realize that my alone time with God is my charging station. It’s time that allows me to connect more deeply to the Source (God) so I can be powered by the Holy Spirit for the day. If I’m not careful, I will find myself distracted and short on time, to the point where my connection to God weakens, and I’m not strong enough to defeat the arrows of the enemy.

The problem in all this is that we take this “recharging” and then it is as if we “unplug” from God, and walk out the door. We act and live as if God lives at church, and stays there, waiting for us to return next week.

Our connection to God should be like a permanent battery. Our charging station is time plugged into His Word. Our continued power remains in us as we live our lives in serving God and others.

God isn’t our recharging station, God is more like our battery, and the charging station doesn’t restore the charge in the battery, it simply restores our ability to realize He is there, and He is our life.

God is our life line in living in this world. Apart from God, we are worthless. Connect with Him today!

John 15:5 - “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
