Running on empty.

Time seems to be getting shorter as the days fly by, like speeding cars on a four lane highway. Our lives get so busy that when we stop and look up, we wonder how in the world we got there.

There have been seasons in my life where I have been running to God, away from Him, or just running aimlessly on my own. If we’re not careful, we will let the busyness of life consume our every ounce of energy to where we have nothing left for God.

It’s impossible to drive a car when it runs out of gas. As it is with Christians, without God in our life, and without Him as the source and sustainer of life, we will soon be left with an empty tank; running on empty and just going through the motions of daily living.

Just like you shouldn’t ignore the ‘low fuel light’ in your car, don’t try to do life without God. Don’t wait until you’re near a breakdown before realizing how vital that fuel (God) really is.

We don’t know what each day holds, but God sees what’s next. He knows what we need and how to equip us for the things ahead.

If your soul is nearing empty, don’t wait! Take time to fuel up and find rest for your soul.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
