Lighthouse

I’ve loved visiting lighthouses in the north east. To think that these beacons of light gave life saving help to many in times past. Their lights shining for miles so that ships can divert from land to prevent catastrophic damage to their ship.

As a Christian, we should be the lighthouses of Christ. Our light should be shining so that others see Christ in us. We should be spreading light into the dark places. We are called to be lights in the darkness. We should be living examples of Christ.

A lamp is meant to be placed on a stand, not hidden underneath a blanket. So it is with Christians. We are to stand out in a dark world. Don’t hide and be embarrassed of God’s story. Get out there and tell others about how Jesus saved you from a world of sin, and is still blessing you today.

Before we can be a light to others, we should be looking into our own life. Are we giving God everything we have? Are we truly living for Him each day?

How do we do this? Watch your tongue. Be careful where you spend your spare time. What are you saying on social media? Are you a giving person? Do you truly show love and compassion for others?

Be God’s lighthouse, so the world can see what they’re missing. Be bold and share your story.

John 8:12 - “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
