Power in the swing.

I am always surprised when I attempt to hit this tiny ball with a metal club in the game of golf. I’m not very good at the game, but it’s fun to play. I either have too much power and the ball goes really far, (sometimes in the wrong direction), or I don’t give it enough power and find that it’s only gone a few feet away. Basically I lack power in the swing.

It got me to thinking though, about the power of the Holy Spirit. There are times when I feel I don’t use the power that’s within me to reveal Jesus. There are moments when I can’t muster up the courage to ask someone about their faith. The power is there, I just don’t use it.

The Holy Spirit is the power of God and if you’re a Christian, it is within you. The same power that raised Christ out of the tomb is at your fingertips.

The Holy Spirit is the presence of God in the life of a believer. God gives us power, love, and self-discipline. Power can be many things backed up by the Holy Spirit, such as boldness to tell someone your story of how Jesus changed your life.

Love given by the Holy Spirit is obvious when we have the heart to love others the way Jesus would.

The power is there, put it into action.

John 15:26 - “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.”
