Shadows.
Looking out my kitchen window in late October, I noticed how the backyard looked a little different than earlier in the year. It seemed as if the shadows were unlike the landscape of the summer months. So, I googled, ‘why does the sun look different in the fall,’ and found out that in my area, during the autumn months, the sun is lower on the horizon, casting a longer, weaker ray of light.
This got me to thinking about my Christian walk over the years. Some of us start out on fire for God, and our light is so bright that there’s little room for the darkness of the world to penetrate. Then, life happens and we sometimes let the world infiltrate so much so that we are left with just a tiny flicker. That was the case in my own life.
As the sun orbits around us, it casts different shadows throughout the year, that’s a known fact.
As a Christian, let’s try to keep the light shining within us so bright that others are drawn toward us, and eventually to God.
Be a source of hope and encouragement to those around you who may be struggling or going through difficult times. Shine the light of Christ's love and truth into every situation, even when it may seem dark or hopeless.
Let your light shine my fellow brothers and sisters, and let’s drive out the darkness in this world.
