Compromise.
Conflict is a part of our lives. Since the fall of man in the garden of Eden, we often face and deal with some type of struggle.
A good relationship, especially in a marriage, involves compromise at times. The Bible says that compromise can be a good thing in some situations, but not so good in others. When we can agree on a situation, our compromise is positive, but it can be negative when it involves lowering our standards.
Compromise is the act of giving in or making concessions to reach an agreement. There are times when compromise is good and right—compromise is a basic skill needed in marriage, for example, and in other situations in which keeping the peace is more desirable than getting one’s own way.
When our intention is to actively pursue a deeper relationship with God and obey Him in all things, we are less likely to compromise.
Get to know God. The better we know God, the better we can resist the temptation to compromise what’s important.
Philippians 2:12 - “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,”
